HAYDEN, IDAHO – Bombastic Brewing took home three medals from the North American Brewers Association’s International Beer and Cider Awards.
The craft brewery was awarded a gold medal for 5th Anniversary in the Barrel-Aged Strong Stout Category. Stubbornness took silver among English-Style Barley Wines. Murder, Bombastic’s signature Mexican Chocolate Imperial Stout, won a bronze in the Chili Beer category.
“After years of effort and tweaking our recipes, it is a very great feeling to have received the awards we did,” said brewer and co-founder Phil Hottenstein. “We were competing against breweries that produce some of the best beers in the industry. It was a proud day for Bombastic.”
Awards were announced June 2 during the NABA’s Mountain Brewers Beer Fest in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bombastic Brewing was among 30 Idaho breweries that medaled at the event. This is the second year that the brewery, founded in 2016, has competed. Last year Bombastic Brewing’s Attempted Murder was awarded a silver medal.
Earlier this year, Bombastic Brewing inked distribution deals in Idaho, Washington and Utah. The craft brewery is now expanding distribution to Montana through George’s Distributing, the only statewide distributor of beer, wine and cider.
