HAYDEN, IDAHO – Four beers from Hayden’s Bombastic Brewing ranked among the best in Idaho as part of the first-ever Untappd Community Awards.

Untappd announced the awards Wednesday after more than 11 million Untappd users rated thousands of breweries and beers last year as best-in-class. The social media platform recognized the top three beers in each qualifying substyle across the United States, as well as 50 countries with the most check-ins from 2023, according to Untappd.

“Over 1.5 million beers were rated in 2023, meaning fewer than 1.65% of beers (25,302 in total) won awards. Impressively, nearly 30% of brewers (7,427 total) produced an award-winning beer!” Untappd posted on its website.

Bombastic beers to win in the Untappd Community Awards includes:

• Bukwus Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout received the gold medal in Idaho’s Imperial/Double Stout category.
• Bombastic’s 5th Anniversary Barrel Aged Imperial Stout won bronze in the Imperial/Double Stout category.
• Puddle Pale Ale with Citra Hops placed third in the Pale Ale category.
• Conspiracy Sour Ale earned a silver in the Sour/Fruited category.

Bombastic Brewing President Russell Mann applauded the awards, which come as the business continues to expand into new markets and reach craft beer drinkers throughout the West.

Bombastic Brewing’s award-winning Murder stout has twice earned the Bronze Medal during the 2022 and 2023 North American Beer Awards. Bombastic’s Attempted Murder stout took home the Silver Medal during the 2021 North American Beer Awards. The 5th Anniversary stout was previously awarded a gold medal by the North American Beer Association in the 2022 in the Barrel Aged Stouts category.
